T.G. (Terry) Bond MBE
Most of my working life was spent in the Probation Service, working with adult offenders in the community and within prison settings. Resident in Silverdale since 2001, a Parish Councillor since 2007, previously Chair for 11 years, I manage four areas of woodland in the parish and am a volunteer with the National Trust conservation team. My skills in leadership and development, communication and networking are useful as manager of Silverdale Scout Group and Chair of the Silverdale Village Institute Trustees. As a councillor, I strive to be visible, accessible, and approachable within the community. Working Group responsibilities for the Parish Council include Woodland Management, Wells and Quarries, Tender Documents, and the website. I also liaise between the Parish Council and the National Trust, Lancaster Area Committee of Town Councils (LACTC) and AONB regarding the Trowbarrow Nature Reserve.

I moved to Silverdale in 2009, having spent most of my life in further education, initially as a student at Edinburgh University, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, and the University of Central England and then as a lecturer and Programme leader in Landscape Architecture at The Manchester School of Architecture. In parallel with my teaching, I managed a small landscape practice and in 2018 I was appointed a Garden Advisor to the RHS Bridgewater Garden. As a recently co-opted member I will be contributing to the Planning, Streetscape and Woodland Management working groups, utilising my skills to help deliver good design, which is fit for purpose, sustainable, and socially and environmentally inclusive.

Deputy Clerk
Clerk
Mrs L.D. (Denise) Challenor
I have been the Clerk for Silverdale Parish Council since November 2007, following in the footsteps of my late husband Peter, who was Clerk for six years. My knowledge was gained not only from Peter and the training I undertook, but also from my time as Clerk for Heversham Parish Council dating back to 2001, which position ran alongside my post as Clerk for Silverdale for a couple of years. It proved a bit challenging at times liaising with two different District, Town, and County Councils!
