Unitary Status
We have been informed that Lancashire County Council and Lancaster City Council have both made bids for Unitary status. Until this gets sorted-out, we’ll not know where we are heading. There is a lot of talk about “communities”, but it seems just talk, at the moment.

Elections
This year, all of our Parish Councillors are required to stand-down, although they can be proposed for election to the new Council. Elections for a new Council, will take place on May 4th, and the newly-elected Members will commence their duties on May 8th. If we are to retain our “Quality” status, it is essential that all members of the Council are elected to their positions, in May (co-option will not be acceptable).
The Elections, and the inevitable paperwork, will be organised by the District Council, but our Parish Clerk will be available in case there are any queries. It is probable that he will also have a few spare sets of Nomination Papers. Please contact him, if you have any queries about the work of the Parish Council.
